Amazing sandwich shop in Lisbon

A Michelin recognized chef has opened a humble-looking sandwich shop whose food is next-level.

Louise Bourrat is a French-Portuguese chef inspired by her grandmother’s Portuguese recipes. She won the 13th season of Top Chef in France in 2022.

Louise opened Boubou’s in 2018 with her brother Alexis and his wife.

Boubou’s is a very high end restaurant offering two tasting menus (omnivore and vegetarian) each day. The restaurant quickly became very popular and has been recognized by the Michelin Guide.

While Boubou’s is definitely a splash-out special occasion dining experience, Louise and the Boubou’s team have opened a casual spot called Sandwich Club in the Príncipe Real neighborhood (video), just steps from their fancy restaurant.

While the vibe at Sandwich Club is chill, the food is incredible! Super fresh and tasty with the best ingredients made skillfully. That’s what you get when a chef from the Michelin guide opens a sandwich shop!

My favorite sandwich is the Katsu Sando made with a yummy cabbage slaw. The protein is either a pork cutlet or tofu. I really like that most of dishes have a vegan option.

The sides are fantastic as well. The spicy cucumber salad has cucumbers and nori marinated in a spicy soy sauce with black sesame seeds and topped with green onions. Out of this world!
